Eucalyptus globulus
For centuries, Australian Aborigines used the leaves as a disinfectant to cover wounds. Some doctors still use solutions of eucalyptus oil in surgical dressings. This oil may also be used for aches/pains, acne, respiratory infections, increasing energy.
Jasmine
This oil originates in India. It has been nicknamed the “queen of the night” and “moonlight of the grove.” It is beneficial for the skin, uplifting, an antidepressant, and stimulating. For centuries, women have treasured jasmine for its beautiful, seductive fragrance.
Rose
Rose has been used for the skin for thousands of years. The Arab physician, Avicenna, was responsible for first distilling rose oil, eventually authoring an entire book on the healing attributes of the rose water derived from the distillation of rose. Its beautiful fragrance is intoxicating and aphrodisiac-like. It helps bring balance and harmony, allowing one to overcome insecurities. It is stimulating and elevating to the mind, creating a sense of well-being.
Lemon
Lemon oil has antiseptic-like properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function. Lemon oil has been widely used in skin care to cleanse and reduce wrinkles. It may be beneficial for anxiety, digestive problems and respiratory infections. It promotes clarity of thought and purpose, as well as health, healing, and purification.
Grapefruit
This oil is antiseptic, detoxifying and has unique fat-dissolving characteristics. It is exceptionally cleansing for oily skin. Psychologically, it is antidepressant and emotionally uplifting.
Lavender
The French scientist René Gatefossé was the first to discover lavender’s ability to promote tissue regeneration and speed wound healing when he severely burned his arm in a laboratory accident. Today, lavender oil in one of the few essential oils to still be listed in the British Pharmacopoeia. Lavender is a universal oil with many different applications. It helps with headaches, insomnia, menopausal conditions, skin conditions, depression, nervous tension, and respiratory infections.
Gardenia
This floral scent is especially uplifting and soothing at once, creating the sense of being in the garden of life. It is not used for medicinal purposes but rather as an emotional balancer.
